Australian shares tip into the green at the close – ASX200 up 1.2 points to 7,237.2 (5/4)

The local share market has edged slightly into the green at the close on Wednesday to extend its win streak after taking a breather for most of the day.

The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index closed Wednesday in the green by the slightest of margins, finishing up 1.2 points, or 0.02 per cent, to 7,237.2.

The broader All Ordinaries closed up 2.8 points, or 0.04 per cent, to 7,434.3.

Wednesday’s last-minute gains means the market has finished in the positive for eight consecutive days.

The Australian dollar was buying 67.32 US cents, from 67.56 US cents at Tuesday’s ASX close.
